Cajon Masterclass at the Brighton Institute of Modern Music
An interactive Workshop with Albert Vila on how to play Contemporary and Flamenco styles on the Cajon.
Students at the Brighton Institute of Modern Music (www.bimm.co.uk) explore new possibilities of how to apply rhythms usually performed on drums and learn to transfer them onto this new and hip instrument. Watch the video here.
Cajon and Percussion Master Class
Percussity teamed up with Duende to offer a touring master class to show just what the Cajon is capable of.
We would like to thank BELLPERC (London) and STAGEBEAT (Farnham) for hosting a couple of successful in store events, which took place on Sat 28th and Sun 29th of November 2009 and featured Gabriel Nuzzoli (Amy Winehouse, Ricky Martin, Courtney Pine), Albert Vila (Modern Romance, Hofesh Schechter) and Nano Gonzales (Director of Duende Percussion).
A big thank you also to everyone that came down, your positive feedback and enthusiasm is much appreciated.

The London Drum Show
4th and 5th of September
Percussity will be at the London Drum Show 4th - 5th of September 2010. Come and visit us at the Olympia Conference Centre in Kensington. You can find us at Stand D2.
There will be a superb line-up of worldclass performers throughout both days including Steve Gadd, Dave Weckl, Benny Greb and Pete Lockett amongst others. Percussity is providing a Flamenco and Cajon/Percussion Masterclass on both Saturday and Sunday with Albert Vila and Monica Cano. We hope to see you there.

Step Live at Sadler's Wells with the Royal Academy of Dance

The Royal Academy of Dance celebrates Step into Dance and the Jack Petchey Foundation’s 10th Birthday at Sadler's Wells. The building was filled with a festival of music and dance, bursting with life, energy and colour. Percussity was delighted to provide an afternoon of percussive fun for the occasion. Step Into Dance is a partnership project between the Jack Petchey Foundation and the Royal Academy of Dance leading dance in 100 schools across 13 London boroughs.

Cajon Courses in London
Percussity offers two monthly cajon courses (beginners and advanced) taught by Albert Vila. Courses will start in October 2010 and end in April 2011. Click here or contact us for more information.
Many jazz musicians as well as Rock players have been influenced by Flamenco music for decades. The rhythmic richness and phrasing capabilities of this style offers a new and extended musical vocabulary that can be applied and adapted onto any other instrument or style to create interesting performances and provide soloing ideas in odd time signatures.
